Chapter 1: The Restoration of the original stained glass panels for the Centenary Methodist Church in Historic Downtown New Bern begins October 2022.
This Church was founded in 1772, built in 1843 and completed in 1904. In 1936 there was a fire and the sanctuary ceiling collapsed with extensive damage to the original glass panels. The sanctuary was renovated in 1966 in the Neoclassical Architectural style you see today.
The process of restoring the original 1904 stained glass panels begins now with us in 2022, and I can tell you, it is an honor to be included in preserving the rich history of this magnificent church.
