It was time! Time to change out coils and check to see if all the relays are still working properly. My kiln is ten years old and I have lots of dead areas in the coils. The last firing to ∆ 9 took over 24 hours and barely made it to 2300ºF. Ugggg! Nobody likes taking the time to remove old coils and replace new ones. It is one difficult, slow, thankless job.
Two days later, we test the kiln and as you can see from the glowing coils, they are not all glowing! Three coils, three sections, and each coil has to be in place in a specific order. Poor John, my wonderful husband that helps make my world work, had to begin again.
Breath, begin again, keep moving forward as this will pass.
