Jim Schlitz was a glass blower in the 1970s. He reinvented Louis Comfort Tiffany’s glass formulas and became rather famous, as when Tiffany passed in the 1920s no one knew his glass recipes and what ever was in stock at the time was the last remaining sheets of Tiffany glass until Jim Schlitz.
We discovered a stash of Schlitz glass a few years back and did our best to purchase as many hand-made Schlitz glass as we could. Next, how to honor and display Schlitz-made Tiffany glass. I designed this frame style to give this glass “breathing space.” What you see is all we have left of Schlitz Glass. The “Schlitz Story” is an interesting one and for another post.
